Whittemore Family Reunion 2010
Hey!! Whittemore cousins, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, descendents, etc.:
You asked for it! You got it! A weekend in the beautiful mountains of North Idaho at
Silver Mountain Resort in Kellogg, Idaho (check the website at www.silvermt.com). You can arrive Friday, July 16th and leave Monday, July 19th, 2010. Of course you are certainly free to stay longer or come earlier. We will be staying at a condo at the foot of the “Longest Gondola in the World.” We will ride to the top of the mountain for a catered supper one evening. There will be pick-ups available at the Spokane, WA airport and the train station as needed. Just email your arrival times to Jennifer (Jeanne’s daughter) and she will make the arrangements.
There are hot tubs, a wonderful water park (which costs extra for those staying in the condo units-it’s not open to the public), with golfing, fishing and hiking nearby. There are lots of nooks and crannies in the condo buildings for chatting. There are lots of choices for sizes and number of persons the suites can accommodate, but lots of privacy. We are having a block of suites reserved for one to eight persons per suite, depending on your choice. Cost is by the suite, not by the person. For example, if there are 6 persons in a $287 unit, it would cost $34 per person per day. (Wristbands for the water-park are extra.)
Our suite will be the Whittemore Reunion headquarters where breakfast and lunch will be furnished as needed with drinks and snacks as desired. We will do a taco or baked potato bar for dinner also. All suites have at least a microwave, frig, and sink with dishes, some a complete kitchen. Some of them open up making two suites into one for a whole family group if desired. On the website, under Lodging, then room types, you can get a virtual tour for each type of unit. You can get the rates when you call and the rates are group rates.
There is space available for self-contained RV’s/trailers in the large parking lot across the street from the resort for no charge when you are with a group.
The resort would like your reservation by the end of January 2010 to ensure that our units would be close together. If necessary, you can do it later if openings are still available. They will usually allow cancellations up to 30 days before the event. They are very easy to get along with.
Start saving your money for a fun auction including one of Jennifer’s beautiful quilts. Do you have anything to donate? Has anyone got the hidden talent of auctioneer? Money raised will help with the expenses or for use at the next reunion. Please contact Jennifer if you have any donations.
Your matriarch (me!) turns 80 at this reunion. I want lots of hugs from lots of people. No one is allowed to fall down stairs or any other excuse for not coming. Please forward this to your children/grandchildren/etc. Be sure to bring the children and their families. There is lots to do and have fun with. There is plenty of time to save money and get a couple of days off from work if needed (if you’re still working!).
Looking forward to seeing you all. Much love, Jeanne Slaght-Wilhelm
